No owner, licensee or staff member is named on this site. The licence number and the work itself are what matter, so that is what this page covers: what the licence allows, who checks it, and how a visit runs.

What a Queensland Plumbing Licence Covers

Queensland requires an occupational licence for anyone who does plumbing and drainage work, plus a contractor licence for the business that takes the job on. The QBCC grants both.

The occupational licence shows the person on the tools has the skills for the work. The contractor licence shows the business carrying the job is sound enough to run it. Three classes of work sit behind them:

  1. Plumber's licence

covers the pipework and fixtures inside and around a building, except work that needs a separate endorsement.

  2. Drainer's licence

covers the below-ground drainage side of a property, again apart from separately endorsed work.

  3. Gas work licence

Queensland reserves all gas work for licensed gasfitters, from putting a system in to repairing and signing off on it. Our gas fitter page lists what that includes.

Before any gas job begins, you are entitled to ask the worker to show that licence.

How Plumbing Work Is Regulated in Queensland

Two bodies share the oversight: the QBCC licenses the trade, regulates licensees and investigates unlicensed work, while the City of Moreton Bay council reviews applications, grants permits and inspects. The paperwork you receive depends on the job:

  1. Form 4

after notifiable work, you or whoever engaged the plumber gets a copy, and the QBCC will send one if it never reaches you.

  2. Gas system compliance certificate

when a new gas system goes in or an existing one is altered, the gasfitter hands the certificate over straight away.

The QBCC's registers are searchable online too. You can confirm a licence by name, and an address lookup shows whether a Form 4 was lodged for the property.

Plumbing Across Neighbouring Suburbs

Our plumbers work this suburb and the ones next door: Rothwell, Clontarf, Griffin, Murrumba Downs, Kallangur and North Lakes. The jobs range from a dripping mixer to a full bathroom renovation, with the same licensed hands on all of it.

The full coverage list, including every suburb we attend, is on our coverage page.

How a Plumbing Job Runs From Call to Finish

  1. 1

    You Tell Us What's Wrong

Ring or message and describe the fault. A few details up front mean the right gear comes on the first trip.

  2. 2

    We Diagnose On Site

The plumber traces the problem to its cause rather than its symptom, so the fix lands on the real fault.

  3. 3

The Quote Comes Before the Work

You get a fixed quote before any work starts, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees. Nothing begins until you approve it.

  4. 4

    We Test and Hand Over

The work is tested, the paperwork goes to you, and card and EFTPOS payment on site settles the job when it's done. You can book a plumber for any of it.

Questions About Our Plumbers

Is every job in Mango Hill done by a licensed plumber?

Yes, every job is done by a licensed plumber, whether it is a tap washer in a Mango Hill kitchen or a full repipe.

Who inspects plumbing work in a Mango Hill home?

The City of Moreton Bay council grants permits and inspects, and you can ask it to inspect notifiable work at any stage. The QBCC looks after licensing and keeps the register of notifiable jobs.

What paperwork do I get after plumbing work?

After notifiable work you receive a copy of the Form 4, and the QBCC can provide a copy if yours goes missing. Gas work adds a gas system compliance certificate, handed over as soon as the job is finished.

What can I do if plumbing work in Mango Hill turns out faulty?

Raise it with your plumber first. If the work looks unlicensed, defective or non-compliant, you can complain to the QBCC through its web form, and the same applies if a Form 4 never shows up.
